Rene Genis was a 20th century French painter renowned for his landscapes and still lifes and for his palette of very transparent blues and greens. Genis studied at the Ecole des Beaux- Arts in Bordeaux, then at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Starting in 1959 he had numerous one-man exhibitions in Paris and New York.
